First steps

Hi! I am Prachi and this is my favorite quote :)

The place I like best in the world is my kitchen. Come to think of it any place/thing that is connected to food is my favorite. Glossy pages of a food magazine, the old and tattered diary with family recipes in mum's handwriting, my precious oven, an old jam bottle now carrying cinnamon sticks,visiting quaint food shacks when travelling,the list goes on...

Food. I like to read about it. I dream about it. I like to just look at it.And ofcourse I enjoy eating it.Every little morsel.

My sister insists that it was our mutual weakness for food that made me and my “then boyfriend” now husband marry each other. And years later when our little girl became a part of our family,Guess what? Cinnamon, star anise and cloves became a part of this two year old's vocab,Matt and Gary became her heroes and icing cookies became her favorite pastime.My little chef. 

Enough reasons to start a food blog. Wait, there is one more. This blog is a gift that I decided to give myself for my other blog completed fours today.Yay!

Why orange kitchens? Well, Orange is supposed to stimulate appetite and colours and  I have always had this great connect. purplehomes, anyone? :)

At orangekitchens I hope to share a little of everything. Recipes that I have tried,food memoirs that I have enjoyed reading,  new gadgets that I have been eyeing, kitchen failures that I've had, celebrations of which food is and will always be a big part of and much more. I really hope that you will enjoy this yummy gastronomical journey with me and give it as much love as you've given purplehomes in the last four years.
